PROJECT RUSSELL
SPRING / SUMMER 2021
OVERVIEW
TWO UNIQUE ROOMS SIT ADJACENT TO ONE ANOTHER IN THIS HOME NESTLED CLOSE TO A LAKE IN THE CITY. ONE A PRIMARY BEDROOM, AND THE OTHER AN OFFICE FOR WORK AND LOUNGING. THE LAYOUT IN BOTH SPACES ONLY NEEDED A FEW TWEAKS, HOWEVER THE COLORS, TEXTURES, AND FUNCTIONAL LIGHTING NEEDED QUITE THE OVERHAUL. THE OFFICE DESK IS A BEAUTIFUL FAMILY HEIRLOOM AND STAYED PUT. THE ONLY OTHER ITEM THAT STAYED BEHIND WAS THE TURKISH RUG ~ IT JUST NEEDED TO BE SURROUNDED BY A NEW FAMILY OF COLORS TO BRING IT TO LIFE.
THE OFFICE IS DEEMED THE "COOL" TONED ROOM WHILE THE BEDROOM IS FULL OF "WARM" TONES. FRESH PAINT COVERS ALL OF THE BEDROOM WALLS, TRIM, AND CEILING. MILLWORK WAS ADDED TO THE OFFICE WALLS AND THEN A FRESH COAT OF PAINT APPLIED TO ALL WALLS AND MILLWORK. THE WOOD SHUTTERS WERE A VISUAL EYESORE AND BLOCKED A LOT OF NATURAL LIGHT SO THEY WERE REPLACED WITH ROMAN SHADES. THE LONG LINE OF WINDOWS IS GIVEN BALANCE BY ADDING A STORAGE CABINET WITH ART AND SCONCES ABOVE.
FURNITURE PIECES WITH STRONG LINES WERE CHOSEN TO PLAY OFF OF THE GORGEOUS LEADED WINDOWS LEADING INTO THE OFFICE + BEDROOM.
